Woodford House Shine Journal

The Shine Journal is given to Year 7 to 9 students at Woodford House, designed to encourage reflection, confidence and self-awareness from a young age.

A project that has run since 2023, with each year bringing small refinements and a fresh look to the design.

The journals needed to feel positive and supportive, but not childish. Each one takes students through self-reflection, positive mindset, journalling, colouring in, affirmations, goal setting and time management. Shape, illustration and layout work together to create something energetic and engaging, while leaving space for each student to make it their own.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

“The journals are genuinely loved by students, teachers and parents. They help girls connect with their values, goals and self-awareness, while also creating space for creativity and mindfulness. Kylie worked alongside our girls to ensure the activities were designed with them, not just for them, which has made all the difference in engagement and ownership.

What sets Kylie apart is her ability to truly listen to a brief and then elevate it. She does not simply design what you ask for; she thinks carefully about the intention behind each page and how to achieve the outcome even better. She brings both strategic thinking and creativity to the table.

She is professional, efficient, positive, unflappable and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Kylie to anyone looking for a designer who combines deep listening with thoughtful, high-quality execution.”
